Camera Surveillance and Image Storage Policy

1- Purpose and Scope of the Video Camera Surveillance Policy

Pekerler İnşaat Enerji Taş. Tur. San Tic. Ltd. Şti., conducts surveillance via security cameras with the purpose of protecting the interests of the Company and other persons concerning their safety. This surveillance activity is conducted in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law (“KVKK” or “Law”) and the Law on Private Security Services and related regulations. Notice of camera surveillance is provided to all employees and visitors, and individuals are informed accordingly. Notification signs are posted at the entrances of monitored areas. In compliance with Article 12 of the Law, Pekerler İnşaat takes necessary technical and administrative measures to secure the personal data obtained through camera surveillance.

2- Determining Areas Where Pekerler İnşaat Conducts Camera Surveillance

For security and monitoring business activities, as well as for other purposes outlined in this Policy, Pekerler İnşaat processes personal data within its buildings and facilities. Personal data of individuals entering Pekerler İnşaat buildings is obtained, and individuals are informed through notices posted or otherwise made accessible within the Company. Data collected for tracking visitor entries and exits is processed solely for this purpose and is recorded in a physical data recording system.

3- Purpose of Video Camera Surveillance and Storage

Pekerler İnşaat conducts surveillance activities via security cameras 24/7 within its buildings and facilities for security and monitoring purposes, including tracking visitor entries and exits.

4- Access to and Sharing of Information Obtained through Surveillance

Only a limited number of Pekerler İnşaat employees have access to the digital recordings stored. Authorized personnel in the Security Unit and IT department are allowed access. These authorized individuals have signed confidentiality agreements, committing to protect the privacy of the data accessed. Agreements are in place with the Security Company ensuring that personal data is used only for its intended purposes and not shared without authorization, except as legally required, and data protection measures in line with KVKK are applied to storage and retention processes.

5- Security Measures for Data Obtained through Video Camera Surveillance

Pekerler İnşaat stores camera recordings within limited-access technical departments, following its data security policies, and counteracts potential attacks by utilizing information processing systems. These precautions include:

  • Ensuring network and application security
  • Using a closed network for data transfers
  • Applying security measures in IT procurement, development, and maintenance
  • Establishing an authorization matrix for employees
  • Regularly maintaining access logs
  • Removing access rights for employees upon role changes or termination
  • Using up-to-date antivirus systems
  • Implementing firewalls
  • Applying necessary security measures for physical environments containing personal data
  • Backing up personal data and ensuring the security of backup data
  • Enforcing user account management and permission control systems
  • Keeping log records inaccessible to user intervention
  • Using attack detection and prevention systems

6- Retention Period for Data Obtained through Video Camera Surveillance

Video footage obtained through surveillance is retained for 30 days by Pekerler İnşaat due to the significance of units containing employees. After 30 days, data is destroyed in accordance with data destruction policies.

7- Informing Relevant Individuals about the Surveillance Policy

Pekerler İnşaat informs its personnel about video surveillance through disclosure policies and preliminary notices. Furthermore, notifications regarding camera surveillance are provided at the entrances of buildings and facilities.
